It’s a wonderful feeling to have a new life growing inside of you and to be a prospective mother. Although these mothers are disappointed with their current appearance, they are all adorably cute. Even when you’re not feeling cute, you still look cute
Hazel, a spiky but charming hedgehog, was preparing for her most important event—her litter—in a remote nook of a lovely forest. Hazel’s mother instincts kicked in as her belly grew with her treasured cargo. She carefully collected twigs, leaves, and soft moss to weave a nest for her infants. Her agile paws meticulously detailed every detail, but her quills stood tall, a natural defense against attackers. Quill, Hazel’s handsome hedgehog mate, watched over her and brought her delicious berries and insects to feed their unborn child as the due date approached. Their love was strong, forged in the wild and enhanced by the miracle they were about to encounter. Hazel worked one beautiful night when the jungle was quiet. She received her litter, a small, wiggling bundle of joy that soon grabbed her heart, with Quill’s gentle support and her own maternal wisdom.

Sarina, a lovely orangutan, was becoming a mother in Borneo’s lush rainforests. As her tummy swelled with the precious child growing inside, she walked gracefully through the canopy, guided by her kind’s ancient wisdom. Sarina’s mate, Koba, a robust and protective male, never left her side, protecting her. He brought Sarina the ripest fruits and fragile leaves with a soft devotion that belied his strength. Sarina planned her nest, a cozy treetop shelter made of solid branches and soft, downy leaves, as her enthusiasm built over the weeks. Here, she would give birth to her children surrounded by the sights, sounds, and smells of the forest that had given her life. Sarina’s labor began one warm, humid night as the jungle symphony crescendoed. She gave birth to a tiny, wrinkled orangutan in her strong, caring arms with Koba’s assistance and her maternal instincts.

Zara, a gorgeous zebra, was changing in the Serengeti’s huge, sun-drenched grasslands. She was carrying new life, thus her sleek, streamlined form had given place to a lovely, rounded profile. Zara moved with newfound serenity, guided by a wisdom beyond her years, as the weeks passed. Her herd, a close-knit family, protected and supported her during her pregnancy. Zara’s partner, Kovu, a muscular stallion, constantly scanned the horizon for hazards. He gave Zara the best grazing pastures and never left her alone. Zara immediately sought a secluded area away from predators as foaling approached. In the shade of a little acacia tree copse, she prepared for the important occasion, following traditional life rhythms. Zara gave birth to a small, gangly-legged bundle of stripes and vitality with a final contraction. She cuddled her newborn, forming a relationship that would guide them through the hardships and wonders of life on the vast African plains.

I think my cat doesn’t like me anymore
In a busy city apartment, elegant, hairless Sphynx cat Cleopatra was pregnant. Elegant and eccentric Cleopatra was confused by this sudden transformation. Parenting never occurred to her because she had never met male cats. While Cleopatra was pregnant, her family focused on her. Her human friends were shocked but joked at her pregnancy. Many joked about Cleopatra’s hairless kittens and whether they would look like her. Despite her surprise, Cleopatra handled parenting gracefully and curiously. She often lay on her back with her belly exposed and gently caressed it with her paws, as if talking to the tiny animals inside her. Cleopatra’s human acquaintances anticipated a spectacular birth. From reading about hairless cat kittens, they understood they would have wrinkled skin and undeveloped fur. The kittens appeared one by one, startling Cleopatra’s friends. The bald kittens were cute. Cherubic with weathered skin and large, questioning eyes, they seemed wise beyond their years. Cleopatra cherished her kittens. She carefully trained them to suckle, utilize the litter box, and navigate their hairless environment. Kittens developed a distinct appearance. Neighborhood residents stopped to watch them play in the catio. Cleopatra’s unexpected pregnancy changed her life but brought her joy. She was pleased of being a mother and her hairless babies proved her resilience.
